When does CEQA compliance need to be submitted?

45:57
We have completed 65% design on a fish passage project. Is 100% design eligible?

46:02
For the Implementation Project category - does the project need to demonstrate CEQA compliance? For example, if the proposal includes preliminary design and engineering, but CEQA has not been completed.

46:13
How should we approach community engagement for projects that span greater than a regional scale?

46:17
Thank you, very helpful!

46:51
Can a project include elements of both Research and Implementation?

47:18
What is the FUNDING timeline: If a project is funded, when can one expecting funding to be in place, and how long?

47:18
Are there any match $/% requirements?

47:31
If we have a project which touches on multiple project priorities, do we need to pick a primary target or can we “tick" multiple boxes in the LOI?

47:38
Do research projects need to look only at SLR, or are modeling efforts looking at several climate change impacts (such as SLR+ water quality+ sediment transport) eligible?

47:57
Please confirm that disadvantaged communities will not be targeted/prioritized (only severely disadvantaged)?

49:27
For an otherwise qualifying project, if OPC cannot fund the full project, are they able to award partial grants? (assuming the total project costs are cobbled together with other grants or matching funds).

50:46
Can you please define “project-related monitoring” as something that is not fundable?

53:12
Is CEQA analysis eligible?

53:57
Do you encourage/prioritize collaboration between application organizations? If so, is there a platform or other way we can share our application with other interested parties?

56:29
For socioeconomic research, does investigating how to communicate SLR risks, solutions and benefits of different approaches fall into this? Which would include awareness building first and then analyszing how cdifferent ways of engagement work

58:12
Do projects need to be on the coastline/in the coastal zone or can they be located along bayfronts? Are upland riverine/delta resiliency projects also eligible?

59:04
Yes, what's OPC's definition of "coastal"? Is there a map that shows the extent?

59:26
Does there need to be an implementation component for the first three "buckets"?

01:00:47
Re: collaborations - Whale Seeker builds AI tools to monitor marine mammals from remote sensed imagery. We’re looking for collaborators on MPA monitoring projects and/or developing tools for real-time whale detection, pls shoot me a message if interested! raina@whaleseeker.com / whaleseeker.com

01:01:17
We have an upcoming project with another agency that is funded through Prop 68 that is relevant to our proposal here. To what extent is it appropriate to build on that project?

01:03:46
For question about 50:50 match for just sediment component or does it apply to unrelated elements (in our case levee rebuilding, public engagement): bsalzman48@gmail.com

01:03:54
Can project focus on study region include but broader than California ?

01:04:03
For the CEQA analysis question, while Prop 68 funds cannot fund any permitting analysis, I encourage you to check out our solicitation on page 7 under “Environmental Documents and Permitting”. CDFW has an exciting new program that provides CEQA statutory exemption for fish and wildlife restoration projects that meet certain requirements. More information can be found in this section!

01:04:16
The term “50% match” implies that if requesting $1M one would need to have $500k; but you just said it means a match of $1M, which I would call 100% match

01:09:20
Thanks!

01:09:23
Thank you.

can you navigate to the proposal call and show is where the match requirement is described?

Thank you

01:11:45
Can a project involve several sites along a coastline?

01:12:00
Why is nourishment excluded?

01:12:01
My faculty do lots of technical support (ecological, geomorphological, GIS, socioeconomic impact measurement, etc.) for community- and agency-based projects across the state. We are always happy to help out if we can bring anything to our wider coastal management efforts. We are at Cal State Channel Islands Sean.Anderson@csuci.edu

01:13:06
Would a project that applies for funding for developing 100% design plans, but does not include the construction (implementation) be eligible?

01:14:05
What will endure for 50-100 years?

01:14:28
Thanks everyone!

01:14:51
Does CEQA have to be completed prior to application submission?

01:14:57
Examples of projects that might endure for 30-50 years?

01:15:16
If the proposal is to implement an additional component to an existing project, can the funds already allotted to the projects count as the match or does it need to be new/separate matching funds for the new component?

01:15:38
Thank you to all presenters!

01:16:42
Thank you OPC!
